The movie is called Civil War, and that means there surely has to be at least one casualty. It's the sad nature of war, after all. The trailer did its best to convince us all that Rhodey/War Machine is going to be killed in the film, but I don't think anyone is really buying it. Yes, he's down, and Stark is kneeling over his apparently lifeless body, looking very upset and mightily pi**ed off, but there's no way they're giving something like that away in the first trailer. War Machine is still a contender to die, but it won't be that scene. I say he's a contender, though, because he is one of the few characters they could realistically kill off. It can't be Ant-Man, Black Panther, or Spider-Man, because they all have their own solo films coming up. Captain America and Iron Man, meanwhile, are Marvel's two most recognisable and profitable heroes, and they'll be needed for at least Part 1 of Infinity War (cynical, maybe, but also true). Bucky is tipped to take over the Captain America mantle at some point, so it won't be him, while Vision has to hang around because of that Infinity Stone in his head. So really, that leaves Hawkeye, Black Widow, Sharon Carter, Scarlet Witch, Falcon, and War Machine as the candidates. Given her popularity, it'd be foolish to kill off Black Widow. The others , however, all seem like fair game. Likely Answer: As mentioned, there's a few plausible candidates, but forced to guess I would go with Hawkeye. NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
