Captain America: Civil War - 13 Big Questions From Super Bowl Spot
7. Does Tony Have Extremis?
Another of the really exciting moments from the trailer was Tony Stark showing off his fancy new wristwatch, which quickly gives him the hand of his Iron Man armour. It was a cool, fun moment, and hints at where the movie might be going in terms of the Iron Man technology in Civil War. We know, and get a glimpse of it at the end, that Stark will have his Bleeding Edge armour in the movie, and given he typically has multiple armours, does that mean we'll also be getting Extremis in this film? The Bleeding Edge armour is an evolution of that, the next step, so it'd make sense if we get both, and this glimpse makes it look like Stark is developing the technology. They both use nano-technology to store the armour - parts of it for Extremis, the full suit for Bleeding Edge - inside his body, ready to manifest when mentally called, effectively making Stark part-machine. Is that the route the film is heading down?
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
