Captain America: Civil War - 16 Things We Learned From The Directors' Commentary
6. Peter Parker's Entrance Was The Audition Scene
Given the fan pop that the word Queens got in Civil War, in retrospect, the Russos could have done anything with that introductory scene for Spider-Man and we would all have fallen about in raptures. But they got a sort of accidental boost to that scene thanks to the audition process.
The Marvel casting team used the scene in Peter Parker's bedroom as the chemistry read for potential actors. Because it took so long, it actually ended up helping refine the scene over the many reads. With the luxury of time and repetition the directors and writers were able to craft a version that worked perfectly.
Regardless of how well crafted it was, Tom Holland actually managed to fudge it a little: during the take, he “forgot about the blocking” and left his leg on the bed in the space where Tony was supposed to sit. Luckily, Downey Jr stayed in character and requested he move it. That's professionalism for you, kids.
