Captain America: Civil War - 30 Easter Eggs & References You Must See

11. The Raft

Secret Wars Raft
Marvel Comics

After the airport battle, all of Team Cap - aside from Bucky and Cap himself - end up locked away in the governments secret supermax prison housed under the sea.

Tony Stark comments that this unit - "the Raft" - was intended for super-criminals, like the same institution in the comics. The Raft is different on the page, predominantly as it isn't an underwater unit, but it's obviously named in homage of that prison and combines elements of the Civil War Prison 42 and the comic book prison The Vault, which is buried deep underground.

It's something of a shame they couldn't introduce the Negative Zone Prison 42, but the Raft is a great addition, even if we don't actually get to esee the prison break that its design actually deserves.
