There have been rumours of The Hulk showing up in Captain America: Civil War for some time, and Anthony Mackie appeared to confirm that recently when he pointed to Mark Ruffalo as being one of the actors who he was grateful to work alongside in the movie. He quickly backtracked on that by claiming his comments were taken out of context, and the Russos have since confirmed that we won't see the Jade Giant here. In fact, the duo specifically mentioned that they're glad neither Thor nor The Hulk will factor into Civil War as they're both far too powerful to ensure that we get an even fight. That makes sense as the comic book version of this tale did the same thing by taking both characters off the board, but they won't be gone for long seeing as 2017's Thor: Ragnarok will feature a team-up between the Green Goliath and God of Thunder.
