Last Seen: Starting to regain his memories while visiting the Captain America in The Winter Soldier's post-credits scene. It may be Captain America's movie and fans may be getting all-new characters like Black Panther and Spider-Man in it, but Bucky Barnes' role in the whole thing is more than worth getting excited for. Though his character's name was in the title of the previous film, it's this go-round that the Winter Soldier will really get to make an impact, whether it's in the sins of his brainwashed past catching up to him, his influence on his best friend, or even that his mere presence will cause Cap's other friends - who've only known Bucky as the assassin - to question his leadership. In essence, Bucky is going to be central to the film, and after two films that saw him exit and re-enter his best friend's life, it'll be nice to see the two together again at last, discover any further revelations about his lethal past, and explore the dramatic possibilities that come with it all. Not to mention, the film will undoubtedly continue to tease his potential to replace Steve as Captain America should the time ever come, and with such a huge future in the MCU ahead of him whether that ultimately happens or not, learning more about his influence on the MCU's past and seeing how the world responds to him in the present could easily be the film's most engaging aspect.
