A beautiful byproduct of everyone expressing themselves is that it puts the audience in the very difficult but very engaging position of having two equally valid sides to choose from. In the battle between Team Cap and Team Iron Man, there is no antagonist, just people having a fundamental disagreement over the best way to go about saving lives.

Everyone makes a strong case for why they believe the Sokovia Accords are right or wrong for The Avengers. The fun part for the audience will be figuring out which side they agree with, and it may not be the side they thought they would fall on when they walked into the theater, and then debating their position with friends as they travel home.

Captain America: Civil War has plenty to leave the audience in awe, but just as much material to keep them talking about the film for days after they've seen it. People will want to go back and see it again and again, not just for the spectacle, but to also see if there's anything they might have missed that could reaffirm or change their Team Cap/Team Iron Man alignment.

These are characters audiences have come to love and care about. They do not have to stop loving or caring about any of these characters because the characters are being unreasonably antagonistic. Everyone on screen is still a hero, which makes every element of the conflict that much more emotionally compelling and thought provoking.
