Captain Marvel: 10 Reasons To Be Excited
2. The Skrulls
The Skrulls are one of the most, if not the most terrifying and compelling group of villains in the Marvel comics, and bringing their paranoia-inducing, shapeshifting, Kree-warring presence to the MCU may change the landscape even after the world-changing Infinity War.
Captain Marvel being a Kree-based hero, the war between Kree and Skrull will definitely come into play, with Jude Law's Kree agent Mar-Vell facing off with a few shapeshifting, personality-copying spies from an enemy race, and Carol herself preventing a hostile alien takeover attempt by the same green-skinned invaders.
Adding to their villainous appeal, the Skrulls have a few big names among them, including the Super-Skrull enemy of the Fantastic Four, Kl'rt, and their own cultish Queen Veranke, who led the first near-successful Secret Invasion (in an eponymous comic event) of Earth.
The Skrulls open a world of possibilities to the MCU, especially with their relation to other iconic characters like the Fantastic Four and Mar-Vell's own son, the Kree-Skrull hybrid Hulkling. Fans have a lot to look forward to with their introduction as a major threat to the MCU, both during and likely after the events of the film.
