7. What Are The Skrulls Doing On Earth?

Although it didn't really need to, the trailer confirms what was going on with Captain Marvel punching an old woman at the end of the first trailer: that lady is indeed a Skrull.

Skrulls are shapeshifters with the ability to take the form of anyone they come into contact with, which is why we see another has infiltrated SHIELD. We can assume they're quite well spread on Earth then, but to what end?

Is this part of a longer gameplan for universal dominance, or is Earth a tactical point in the Kree-Skrull War, and one they're looking to make a base in order to secure victory?
