Captain Marvel: Everything We Know So Far

4. Fury And Coulson Are Back Together

With the MCU going back to the 90s, there's an opportunity to bring a few familiar faces back to the big screen, and chief among them is Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury. Despite bringing the Avengers together, he hasn't had a major role in the MCU for some time now, but looks set to be a key part of Captain Marvel and, what's more, he'll have both of his eyes.

Joining him will be his ol' buddy Agent Phil Coulson, who at this point in time is a newbie among the ranks of S.H.I.E.L.D. For both of them, Captain Marvel will be the first superhero they've come across, meaning what happens here will lay the groundwork for Fury establishing the Avengers Initiative, with the pair here likely working on Earth to combat the alien threat.

They're not the only returning faces though. Guardians of the Galaxy villain Ronan the Accuser is back for more, once again played by Lee Pace, and it's likely he'll have a sizeable role in the Kree-Skrull War, and the same goes for Korath the Pursuer (Djimon Hounsou).
