"Once Danvers connects with Fury, their odd-couple banter blasts the film into the stratosphere. There are small but fun fight scenes highlighting Danvers’ tenacity, and the joy of seeing Fury having things explained to him for once." - Empire
"[Jude] Law is sprightly enough, but Larson’s chemistry is much more on Earth with Jackson, whose young Nick Fury here is very good; he works so well with Larson. They have a great scene together when they have to work out how to escape from a locked USAF office." - The Guardian
"Larson's performance and chemistry with Jackson is the obvious highlight in a strong supporting cast." - IGN

As pretty much anyone could've figured out from the trailers alone, the chemistry between Brie Larson and Samuel L. Jackson is absolutely killer in the film, and apparently results in many of the film's funniest and most crowd-pleasing moments.

Carol and Nick Fury get plenty of time to riff off one another during their journey, and the result is a firmly established bond which should put them in good stead for an inevitable reunion in Avengers: Endgame.

Basically, if you were worried that Jackson had a throwaway cameo in this movie, fear not.
