Carrie Fisher's 5 Best Scene-Stealing Moments

2. Scream 3

Fisher may have only featured in Scream 3 for about two minutes, but God are they two good minutes. She plays Bianca, an aging and bitter actress who is pained by her uncanny similarity to Carrie Fisher. As Gale Weathers meets her in the film studio archives she immediately asks "are you...?" to which Bianca gives a firm and furious "no". With a delicious amount of vitriol, Bianca then tells us the story of how she was up for the role of Princess Leia in Star Wars, but lost out to the girl who slept with George Lucas. Since then she has ended up working in the archives for Sunrise Studios and tells Gale of her great respect for unknown actors. Fisher's appearance in this is stellar. The Scream series has always been famed for being self-aware and dripping with parody, and it's little extras like this that puts the cherry on top of its post-modern cake. Interestingly, in the Scream 3 DVD commentary director Wes Craven insinuates that this scene was the brainchild for Fisher herself which gives this scene, and the Scream franchise as a whole, yet another layer of self-referential joy.

Fan of Taylor Swift and the Dead Kennedys (a duet I can only dream of). I like dystopias, slasher films, and video games that make me feel things.
