Cary Joji Fukunaga: Everything You Need To Know About Bond 25's Director
1. He Is Friends With Idris Elba
Whilst a friendship between two celebrities isn’t usually noteworthy, Fukunaga’s friendship with British actor Idris Elba could be an exciting prospect for the Bond franchise.
Over the past few years there has been near constant speculation surrounding Idris Elba being Daniel Craig’s successor as the next 007. Given their friendship, and providing he can make Bond 25 a success, Fukunaga is the most likely candidate to bring Elba aboard for the franchise’s next instalment.
During a 2015 interview for their film Beasts of No Nation with the British newspaper Metro, Fukunaga even remarked that he would love to be given the opportunity to direct a Bond film with Elba in the lead role.
Whilst this is in no way confirmed, it is certainly a comfort for those who thought we may never see Elba don the iconic tuxedo and order a certain shaken drink.
