'Che' flicks to recieve some Grace

Stephen Soderbergh's project of back-to-back movies on the life of Che Guerra is set to begin filming on Wednesday according to Variety. They also report that the Oscar nominated actress for Maria Full of Grace, Catalina Sandino Moreno has joined the cast of both flicks. The two movies are to be titled The Argentine and Guerrilla, with Benicio Del Toro in the leading role of 'Che' for both flicks which have a combined budget of around $70 million and will be shot mainly in the Spanish language. The Argentine will be the first movie shot and it involves Che in a band of Cuban exiles under the rule of Fidel Castro who managed to gather enough support to create an army that toppled the US-friendly regime of Fulgencio Batista back in 1956. Once shooting has finished on that movie, filming will begin straight away on Guerrilla which will focus on Guevera travelling to New York to speak at the United Nations in 1964, where he garnered further public support. I've been looking forward to this from day one, mainly because of Benicio Del Toro's involvement. He has seriously grown and matured as actor so much over the last ten years, I can't believe he's the same guy from Licence to Kill all those years ago. His roles as Che Guerra and his realisation of his long time ambition to play The Wolf Man on screen, could well prove to be the defining moments of his career.
