Chevy Chase: 5 Awesome Performances And 5 That Sucked

2. Chris Thorne €“ Nothing But Trouble (1991)

Not only is Nothing But Trouble one of the worst films Chevy Chase has ever had the misfortune of starring in, but it's one of the worst films ever made, and its ultimate fate as a little-known curio is much deserved. Again, that's despite an impressive roster of talent in front of and behind the camera, with Chase starring alongside Demi Moore in a film directed by Dan Aykroyd. If history has taught us anything, it's that Dan Aykroyd does not know what he's doing, and should not be trusted. He wanted the original Ghosbusters to be a serious meditation on spirituality. He believes in aliens. He thinks they will still do a third Ghostbusters film with the original cast. He was also responsible for this deranged, inexplicable dark comedy with Chase and Moore a young couple stranded in a terrifying, Texas Chainsaw Massacre-style family home off the New Jersey Turnpike. It's horrifying. And Chase looks bored throughout, which is impressive.
