Chris Evans: 5 Awesome Performances & 5 That Sucked

2. Syd - London (2006)

London is, at its most basic level, a film in which a group of incredibly unlikeable people get together for a party one evening and - having done a bunch of coke - proceed to shout at and belittle one another for the sum of 90 minutes.

Chris Evans plays one of these people, and - as the lead - is automatically rendered as the most insufferable of the lot... which is really saying something, considering the conveyer belt of terrible human beings on show here. Nobody comes out of this flick looking good - Jason Statham, what were you thinking? - and it's hard to know what drew Evans to the project, save for the fact that it was 2006 and, hey, why not?

His Syd is a sleazy, unlikeable hipster and the actor fails to make us root for him in any way at all, though it's never made clear whether we're supposed to want to. He also has zero chemistry with love interest Jessica Biel, which is even more shocking when you consider that they were a real couple at the time (?).
