Chris Nolan Proves Less Is More With Stunning Dunkirk Teaser

Now that's how you do early hype-building.

You don't need to be flashy to sell the idea of a movie - particularly when it's still pretty far from release. There's no real call for spoilers, or showy musical riffs or really anything beyond selling a feeling and a shape of the film.

And Christopher Nolan might well have just proved he's the best at doing that with his first stunning teaser for Dunkirk.

The short "trailer", which is more like a mood board, debuted alongside the messy Suicide Squad, managing more authenticity and more real thrills in its mere seconds than David Ayers ensemble could in 2 hours...

Masterful.

Dunkirk has a lot going for it, with Nolan's involvement and the brilliant cast at the top of the pile, and even with One Direction's Harry Styles adding an interesting side-note, it should be one of the biggest films of 2017. Or at least it deserves to be.

The fact that it's coming out in July - smack bang in the middle of a blockbuster season that could (and should) be haunted by this year's atrocious corresponding period - just makes it all the more intriguing.
