Christian Bale Talks The Dark Knight Rises Script

“I remember when I first read the script... Chris couldn’t believe was how slow I read because I go back and re-read until I have it all in my mind. I was in there six or seven hours. It was dark when I came out. And I was smiling.”

Geoff Boucher of Hero Complex is back with another excellent article about Christopher Nolan and his final Batman movie "The Dark Knight Rises", which hits cinemas and IMAX on July 20th, 2012. Boucher is just about the only journalist that Nolan grants lengthy interviews to and although his latest piece is more like a reminder of quotes he has posted previously, there are two new quotes that I don't recall reading elsewhere from stars Christian Bale and Morgan Freeman. Boucher was invited to visit the set of The Dark Knight Rises last summer and the two quotes below are the ones which really stood out to me... Christian Bale;
€œI remember when I first read the script, of course it was all top secret... I went round by Chris€™ house, was shut in the room with the script €” not allowed to leave with it €” and it hit me that this was the last one. What Chris couldn€™t believe was how slow I read because I go back and re-read until I have it all in my mind. I was in there six or seven hours. It was dark when I came out. And I was smiling.€
Morgan Freeman;
€œBack in Gotham, back in Chris Nolan€™s city... The only drawback is this is the last one we get to work on with him. And a lot of us won€™t really get that until later. It€™s not until the curtain goes down that you think, €˜Jesus, that€™s the last one.€™€
As we've reported a few times in the past couple of weeks, Warner Bros are preparing to embark on their big final marketing push for this summer's blockbuster and we can expect a new trailer to be attached to US prints of Marvel's 'The Avengers'. For us international readers we can probably expect the trailer to be made available online around May 7th. The trailer is expected to be accompanied by new posters including the character banner posters for the movie.
