2. Pam - The Big Hit (1998)

Applegate likely scored her role in this obnoxious John Woo produced actioner thanks to Married with Children. She basically reheats Kelly's persona, just with slightly more smarts, and a lot less charm. Applegate plays one of hit-man Mark Wahlberg's love interests, in a film which has absolutely no intention of doing that sort of subplot good service. It's a stylized action caper, so when Applegate's wheeled out, it's for cheap groans and light leering. One of several bullying women in the film, Applegate's dolled-up, but expected only to extol whines and whimpers amid the over-choreographed set-pieces. It doesn't help that The Big Hit has a tin ear for comedy, stranding the actress in broad moments that either see her ogled at or over-playing the b**ch card, with little hope of making a tangible impact. The film doesn't value Applegate, so it should come as no surprise it ranks as one of her lousiest performances.
