Christopher Nolan: An A-Z Guide

Y: You Decide

AZ Christopher Nolan You Decide A lot of endings in Nolan's films leave you thinking; he leaves a lot of the ending up to the viewer. Does Bruce Wayne survive at the end of The Dark Knight Rises or is Alfred just hallucinating? At the end of The Prestige does magic really exist, how is that possible? What happens to the Joker after he is caught in The Dark Knight? (That one sort of has to be left unanswered now). Does Cobb really become reunited with his family at the end of Inception or is he still stuck in a dream somewhere. Nolan does this to get the audience thinking about his films and to think about the consequences of the characters actions in the film and, of course, to make sure there are endless debates about the possibilities on the Internet.

Z: Zimmer

Hans_Zimmer Hans Zimmer has composed some fantastic scores for films over the years - Gladiator being a great example. He has written the score for all three of Nolan's Batman films and Inception, which is probably his most memorably collaboration with Nolan. The huge blasts of horns on the Inception soundtrack have been copied and of course ridiculed since then with nearly every major film trailer having timed large booming sounds play in between clips to make the film seem more dramatic. Clearly Zimmer knows his stuff and his scores have been crucial at certain points in Nolan's recent films. Well, that's the A-Z of Christopher Nolan. What do you think of him as a director? Do you think he's a genius or just an overrated phase? Let us know in the comments section below.
