4. The Iron Giant Is "A Major Part" Of Ready Player One

The first trailer for Steven Spielberg's Ready Player One blew the roof off Comic-Con, with its stunning visuals and fanboy-friendly appearances of the likes of Deathstroke, Harley Quinn, Freddy Kreuger, the DeLorean, Duke Nukem, Lara Croft and yes, the Iron Giant.

The appearance of the latter was especially exciting to a lot of fans who grew up with the iconic animated classic, and Spielberg got them even more riled up by stating, "The Iron Giant is a real major player in this story."

The prospect of The Iron Giant being a major supporting character, even a sidekick, in a 2018 movie is just too awesome and unexpected for words, especially if they can lure Vin Diesel back to provide the voice.
