Community Cast: Where Are They Now?

Chevy Chase is the hyper controversial actor behind Pierce Hawthorne, the hyper controversial member of the study group. Chase left the show before season 4 had finished filming after being incredibly difficult to work with and falling out with the show's writers. He then returned for a cameo in a single episode in season 5. Despite being absent for so long, Chase left his mark as a lot of peoples' favourite character.

Before Community, the risky comedy actor was huge. He had starring roles in numerous laugh-out-loud pictures including Caddyshack, National Lampoon's Vacation, and Man Of The House, to name a few. He also hosted the Oscars twice and appeared on numerous shows as himself, including The Chevy Chase Show. It could certainly be argued that Chase was used as a way to market Community early on, despite his controversial life building up to it.

Since his departure from the show, which doesn't need a lot of detail right now, the former household name hasn't appeared in much. Chase had a small role in 2015's Vacation, and appearances in silver screen pictures such as The Last Laugh and The Very Excellent Mr. Dundee, but not a lot considering how long it's been since Community.

Should the offer of a return to Community meet Chase, he most liekly will not take it up. Due to his relationship with Dan Harmon, the rest of the cast, and the show in general, it's pretty safe to say Chevy Chase is done with Community.
