Complete Indiana Jones on Blu-ray Coming 2012

Will include the blu-ray debuts of the original Indiana Jones trilogy and the re-release of Crystal Skull when the box set arrives this fall.

Now that George Lucas has your money for paying to buy the complete Star Wars saga for the 100th time again last year and with Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace in 3D now been and gone, he is moving on to his next big cash cow. Lucasfilm have announced that the complete Indiana Jones collection is to Blu-ray in the fall of this year. The boxset will include the long anticipated Blu-ray conversion of Raiders of the Lost Ark along with its two lesser but tremendously fun sequels Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Also added is Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull which has already been released on Blu-ray, not that I imagine many who saw it upon original release in 2008 would care to really watch it again. No covert art or info on what new extras beyond "a few nice surprises" will accompany the DVD upgrade but as much as we hate to give Lucas our cash, can any of us really say no to Indiana Jones on Blu-ray? Here's the official announcement; The man with the hat is back €“ and looking better than ever! The world€™s favorite globe-trotting archaeologist is, at long last, embarking on his greatest adventure €“ when "The Complete Indiana Jones Blu-ray Collection" comes to Blu-ray Disc from Lucasfilm Ltd. and Paramount Home Media Distribution. The Complete Indiana Jones Blu-ray Collection will be excavated in the fall of 2012 and will include all four of Indy€™s thrilling adventures, using the highest possible high definition picture and audio presentation €“ along with a €œbest of€ collection of documentaries, interviews, featurettes and a few new surprises.
