Confirmed: POTC writers on THE LONE RANGER

The duo have the same task they had a decade ago when they resurrected the ZORRO adventurer.

First reported back in October and finally confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter today. Pirates of the Caribbean writers Ted Rossio and Ted Elliott are in final talks to direct Jerry Bruckheimer's adaptation of The Lone Ranger which is setup at Disney as a next potential POTC/National Treasure franchise. It's expected the first movie will be an origin tale. Can't think of a better duo to work on this franchise. They were also the pair who contributed to the resurrection of the Zorro character a decade ago for Antonio Banderas. We should expect more light hearted but extremely fun action which should hopefully update the character to the 21st century.
