Could Tom Hardy Be Killer Croc in BATMAN 3?

Just when you think it's a safe bet that Tom Hardy would be signing on to the third Nolan Batman film as Edward Nygma/The Riddler, spreading like wildfire yesterday was a reminder of Mark Millar's two weeks old, spanner into the works comments suggesting the 'Bronson' actor might in fact be wearing an entirely different green costume. Here's what Millar tweeted just after the New York Con, which has since been resurrected because of Hardy's casting;
Oh, wait. Con gossip: I know who the villain(s) are in Batman 3 and the big scene outside Gotham sounds awesome. Totally timely locale. One of the villains is from my favourite childhood run on the character. Again, very unexpected.
Placed in conjunction with the outlandish rumour (though my editor doubts it) that Nolan was planning to shoot some of 'Batman 3' in New Orleans (the "timely locale?"), the tweets have set tongues wagging, and the swampy locale has apparently become the bridge between the location and who the film's villain will be. Swamp = Crocodile, you see. But then, since when has Croc lived in a swamp? It's all a little too presumptuous- adding two and two and getting Killer Croc.

My own editor isn't exactly convinced, stating (in a legally binding online conversation I have to add), that he would "have a sex change and give you all of my DVDs and Blu-rays if it is Killer Croc". This could well be a case of everyone getting themselves over-excited because Warner Bros will never issue a public denial of anything that supposedly breaks online, or it may be that someone has stumbled onto the real deal. Personally I'm not sure who to believe, but I'm damn certain who has my least faith. Mark Millar has proved himself to be a pathological liar/trickster who finds great personal enjoyment in messing with fans with his comments, and everything he says should be taken with a liberal dose of scepticism.

Let's face it, anyone can get a good rumour started - if we wanted we could suggest that an insider had told us that The Ventriloquist was definitely in Nolan's plans, and the New Orleans shooting locale was merely in keeping with that area's theatrical history, but it wouldn't make it true. What do you lot think?
