Creed II Review: 6 Ups & 3 Downs
4. Michael B. Jordan's Outstanding Performance
In conjunction with Ryan Coogler's direction, Michael B. Jordan's performance was one of the primary reasons Creed ended up so damn compelling, and once again, he gives it his all with another thoroughly committed turn.
The material isn't as strong this time around and Adonis actually spends a decent chunk of the movie being a bit of an egoistical a**hole, but Jordan sells Adonis' fiery attitude perfectly, and of course nails the brutal physical requirements of the role.
Whether they're exchanging pleasantries or heated words, Jordan and Stallone's many shared scenes generally rank among the best in the film, again reminding that Jordan's one of the most distinct and impressive actors of his generation.
If Creed III does indeed happen, there's no doubt he'll rise to the challenge yet again regardless of how it turns out.
