20 Horror Movie Scenes They Were FORCED To Cut

18. Katie Beats Micah To Death With A Camera - Paranormal Activity

Numerous endings were conceptualised and shot for Paranormal Activity, the most ambitious of which proved a bit too complicated for filmmaker Oren Peli and his initial budget of just $15,000.

One of the planned endings would've seen a possessed Katie (Katie Featherston) corner her partner Micah (Micah Sloat) and bludgeon him to death with his own camera - the very camera we're seeing the film through, even.

The final shot of the movie would've been a POV glimpse of Micah being beaten to death with it, but Peli decided that it was too technically complicated to convincingly execute - pardon the pun - and so scrapped the idea.

It's easy to see how such an ending could've been incredibly viscerally effective, but the logistics of staging such an up-close kill without trained stunt performers, all while potentially risking breaking the camera on a micro-budget project, make it easy to appreciate why Peli tossed it out.
