20 Horror Movie Scenes They Were FORCED To Cut
19. Pennywise Eats A Baby - It (2017)
2017's It is nothing if not a movie that shows the audience it isn't pulling its punches from the terrifying opening scene, where young Georgie Denbrough (Jackson Robert Scott) is brutally devoured by Pennywise the Dancing Clown (Bill Skarsgård).
Yet there was nevertheless a line that Andy Muschietti ultimately opted not to cross when it came to Pennywise taking the lives of the innocent, as Bill Skarsgård revealed during an interview shortly after the first film's release.
During production, a flashback scene set in the 1600s was shot which depicted a proto-version of Pennywise, sans clown getup, terrorising a mother and forcing her to sacrifice her baby in order to protect herself and her other children.
The scene climaxes with Pennywise devouring the baby while the mother looks on helplessly, and as permissively horrifying as both It films were, it's not terribly surprising that Muschietti and his filmmaking team decided the scene simply went too far.
