20 Horror Movie Scenes They Were FORCED To Cut

15. Most Of The Violence - Slender Man

It really shouldn't have been that difficult to deliver a passably competent Slender Man movie, but the film couldn't even deliver the basic grisly goods promised in its trailers.

Despite shooting a number of bloody, nasty death scenes, production company Screen Gems got cold feet about the movie during post-production, amid increasing backlash with the trial of the 2014 Slender Man stabbing which was ongoing at the time.

As such, Screen Gems mandated that the film be trimmed down to a PG-13 and any scenes involving the deaths of young people be edited to the bare minimum, if not cut entirely.

And so, several scenes from the trailers - including one girl stabbing herself in the face with a scalpel, and a boy leaping from the roof of the school - are conspicuously absent from the final film.

It's especially bizarre as, in the case of the scalpel scene, said character basically vanishes from the movie without explanation as a result.
