Dakota Fanning Weighing Up Whether Or Not To STAY

Alert all smushy supernatural fans.

Variety are reporting that 'Twilight's' Dakota Fanning is in talks to join the cast of the upcoming big-screen version of Gayle Forman's tear-soaked supernatural teen romance novel "If I Stay", adapted by Shauna Cross ('Whip It').

The novel centres on Fanning's musician and her fellow musician boyfriend: already faced with a choice between her art and her relationship, she is forced to make a harder choice between life and death after being involved in a fatal car accident. All sounds a bit 'The Lovely Bones' crossed with 'Twilight's' romantic undercurrent for my liking.

The Summit Entertainment film will be helmed by Brazilian director Heitor Dahlia, who replaced outgoing 'Twilight' director Catherine Hardwicke, when she opted to take on 'Red Riding Hood' for Warner Bros.
