Dane DeHaan Confirmed as Harry Osborne in The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Dane DeHaan is now officially confirmed as Harry Osborne in Sony Pictures' upcoming sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man. DeHaan is perhaps best remembered for his edgy turns in Chronicle and Lawless and the choice to cast him as Harry Osborne, best-friend-cum-nemesis to Peter Parker, indicates that the film will focus on the darker facets of the character. DeHaan had spent the last month as the front-runner for the role and was confirmed last night in a short and to-the-point tweet from director Marc Webb: Harry Osborne was a major focal point in the original film trilogy and was portrayed by James Franco. Jamie Foxx's official involvement in the film has also recently been confirmed, with the Django Unchained star signing on to play classic Spider Man villain Electro. Foxx said:
" genius electrician-type person and he gets the short end of the stick from the whole world... The next thing you know, he turns it on."
DeHaan and Foxx join the returning cast of Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, as well as new cast member Shailene Woodley as Mary-Jane Watson. Sony Pictures' The Amazing Spider-Man sequel is due for release on May 2nd, 2014.
