Daniel Radcliffe Won't Close The Door On Playing Harry Potter Again

Accio hype!

Harry Potter Daniel Radcliffe Cursed Child

It was always inevitable that Daniel Radcliffe's attempts to publicise his latest movie - Imperium - would end up being over-shadowed by Harry Potter. With The Cursed Child book out now and rumours swirling that a movie (or three) will follow, thanks to Warner Bros registering the trademark, he surely knew he was facing the same question over and over.

Unsurprisingly, he was asked about the rumours of returning to the role, and he was just about vague enough to make it sound like he might still be sort of maybe keen:

"I’m never going to close the door; that would be a stupid thing to do. But I think I’ll be happy enough and secure enough to let someone else play it".

Both JK Rowling and Warner Bros have denied the fact that the movie is even coming, but the trademark registration is telling. They have to make a film to keep the trademark, and there's no denying that the money that the book has brought in will have turned a lot of heads. There were already reports that Warner Bros wanted to talk to Radcliffe about reprising the role, but as he rightly points out, he's not even the right age to make it...

"At the moment it’s not even a concern because I’m too young to play the character, but even in 10 years’ time I would still feel strange about going back to it."

Maybe it's time to just cast someone older and get on with it.
