Danny Elfman is scoring THE WOLF MAN!

Universal's remake of the classic Lon Chaney Jr. movie opening April 3rd.

Danny Elfman is composing The Wolf Man remake according to Harry Knowles who has heard the news directly from a Universal source. Elfman, best known for his extensive collaboration with Tim Burton - will no doubt bring the same sense of atmosphere he brought to the horror Sleepy Hollow but slightly less Hammer Horror-ish. More Universal horror-ish, but probably not as comical as Ed Wood or Mars Attacks! You get me? Sleepy Hollow...

Ed Wood...

Elfman most recently composed the score for Hellboy II: The Golden Army (which I loved by the way and something similar would be awesome for The Wolf Man)...

The original Wolf Man soundtrack mixed horror, fantasy and romanticism though it's probably not as fondly memorable as those of Frankenstein or Dracula...

The Wolf Man remake opens April 3rd 2009.
