Daredevil Returns To Marvel Studios: Here's How Film Reboot Could Work

Casting

Casting is always difficult for a superhero film, because so many actors could fit. I, personally, find these actors to be the best for the roles (despite the fact that some of them are a bit too old for my own script). Nikolaj Coster-Waldau for Matt Murdock. He's got the look, the acting chops, and isn't too well-known to be altogether distracting in the final product. I feel like he could bring an incredibly human side to Matt Murdock, something that many fan-casters forget when they're writing up their fantasy ensemble. Other fan-favorites include Ryan Gosling, Michael C. Hall, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Bradley Cooper. Carey Mulligan for Karen Page. Soft, sweet, simple, and powerful, Mulligan could really bring a new sensibility to this character that hasn't adequately been explored on screen yet. Other power players include Charlize Theron, Julie Bowen, Katrina Bowden, Imogen Poots, and Elizabeth Banks. Val Kilmer for The Kingpin. I see James Gandolfini and John Goodman get thrown around a lot; and while they're fantastic actors, I personally see Kilmer really driving it home in the role. While Michale Clarke Duncan provided a titan of a threat, some perspective shooting could really lead to Kilmer being a massive challenge to Daredevil; something hehas to be. Patton Oswalt for Foggy Nelson. I love Jon Favreau's Foggy from the 2003 movie, and I think Oswalt could really take off in this role. Other options include Jason Segal and Seth MacFarlane. David Tennant for Bullseye. Now, it might seem off at first, but I see Bullseye being just as calculatingly evil and excruciating mentally as he is physically. Jason Statham is a favorite for the role, but I don't see him adequately portraying Bullseye when the punches aren't being thrown. I'd love to see Tennant's take on the character, bringing a real, eerily human aspect to the world's greatest assassin. Billy Bob Thornton for Ben Urich. He looks the part, the man can act, and I really can't think of anyone better for the role (though most people want Bryan Cranston). John Cusack could throw in an interesting performance, as well.
