DC Extended Universe: 10 Major New Rumours You Need To Know

9. Constantine May Return To The Big Screen

A Justice League Dark project is in the works for HBO Max from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker director J.J. Abrams, and it seems that could lead to a series of big screen spinoffs revolving around characters who are part of that team of magical superheroes.

Recently, The Direct hared a report in which they credit "a reliable source with industry knowledge" for the news that a Constantine movie is in the works at Warner Bros. Bad Robot will reportedly serve as the production company, while J.J. Abrams himself is attached as producer. The plan is for it to boast a similar feel and tone to Justice League Dark, something which probably shouldn't come as a surprise.

An even bigger shocker, however, is that the door is open to Keanu Reeves potentially returning as the character after he played Hellblazer in the most comic book inaccurate 2005 movie. However, given how beloved he's become since starring in the John Wick franchise, most fans probably won't complain.

Unfortunately, this news doesn't bode well for the Matt Ryan version in Legends of Tomorrow.
