DC: Ranking Every Upcoming Movie & TV Show By Anticipation

17. Suicide Squad 2/Harley Quinn Spin-Off

DC Movies TV Justice League Flash Arrow
Warner Bros.

Of the two DCEU films to be released this year, as they launched their universe proper, it was Suicide Squad that sounded far more exciting (personally speaking, anyway). While Batman v Superman seemed destined to be overstuffed setup for the Justice League, Suicide Squad looked like it was going to be something genuinely different and fresh: a fun, off-kilter movie with a bunch of weird and wonderful characters, with some interesting casting choices.

Unfortunately, it wasn't to be. For whatever reason, from poor editing to studio interference to Jared Leto's baffling take on the Joker, it ended up as a confused, dull mess of a film.

So of course, it's likely to get a sequel. There's no date for it yet, but reports have stated it's in-development, not a surprise given it still did well at the box office. Along with this, there's also a plan for a spin-off featuring Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn. Robbie wasn't quite the scene stealer that the casting announcement first promised, but there's still more to explore there - while a Squad sequel can work in the right hands.

There's definitely far more trepidation here, and not much anticipation since both are a way off, but it'd be good to think there's a way of making these characters work on the big screen.
