DCEU: Ranking The Batgirl Actress Shortlist From Worst To Best

7. Olivia Cooke

Katherine Waterson Batgirl
Fox Searchlight

Known For: Me And Earl And The Dying Girl, Ouija, The Signal.

Olivia Cooke is a rising talent who's made some good decisions, and some bad ones.

Her performance in Me And Earl And The Dying Girl was one of the best of that year, and completely vanity-free (she actually shaved her head for the role), but her turn in Ouija left a lot to be desired, as did the movie as a whole.

And, like Fanning, she almost feels too fragile and delicate to be able to convincingly play a superhero, and her performances in bigger budget or genre pictures - see Ouija, The Quiet Ones and The Signal - are the worst parts of her career; she thrives when under less pressure, a scenario Batgirl would not afford.

Chances Of Her Being Cast: Cooke is going to be incredibly busy over the next couple of years - she has a TV series to shoot and three movies set for release in 2018 - so there's no room in her schedule, and ever since Ouija, she's favoured smaller, dramatic roles over blockbuster ones. 3/10

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
