De Niro, Barrymore, Beckinsale & Rockwell in EVERYBODY'S FINE

Foursome in remake of Giuseppe Tornatore's 1990 Italian drama.

Robert De Niro will play a widower who on a whim sets off on a road trip with his grown up kids in order to get close to them but soon discovers their lives are far from perfect in Everybody's Fine, the Miramax film which will begin shooting in Connecticut at the end of this month. Drew Barrymore, Kate Beckinsale & Sam Rockwell are also on board according to Variety, they are probably his three children. The movie is actually a remake of a 1990 Italian film Stanno tutti benefrom Giuseppe Tornatore who had previously helmed the classic Cinema Paradiso. Both films carry a Ennio Morricone score. The remake will be written and directed by Kirk Jones (Waking Ned, Nanny McPhee). Sounds a little bit like Jack Nicholson's About Schmidt. I've never seen the original myself but the fact that it comes from Tornatore has peaked my interest. I absolutely adore his Paradiso movie.
