Deadpool: 100 Easter Eggs, In-Jokes And References

72. 12 Bullets Of Christmas

One notable element of the film is Deadpool's obsession with Christmas, which he uses to personify each day he gets to kill someone from his wall. This is quite neatly winked towards by the fact that he has only twelve bullets in the bridge fight, an allusion to the twelve days of Christmas (such a shame he didn't sing that as he went along).

71. Xavier's School Appears (Several Times)

Despite not having much involvement with the wider X-Men continuity, Deadpool does still have its foot in the canon. Biggest of all, we actually get to see Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters, complete with entrance plaque and a showy areal shot. It pops up a couple of times later on too.

70. Negasonic Teenage Warhead Glibbly References X-Men Apocalypse

As her and Colossus head out to apprehend Deadpool, Negasonic Teenage Warhead comments that the X-Mansion is blown up every other week. While this is ostensibly just a reference to how contrived it is the X-Men are always in danger, it also serves as the film's only overt wink towards Apocalypse, the next X-Men movie; as seen in the trailer, for the first time on film we'll actually see the mansion blow up.

69. The X-Jet Also Appears

And how do they travel from the mansion to that bridge? Why they take a Blackbird of course. The X-Jet has appeared in every X-Men movie (bar The Wolverine), so of course it was going to make some sort of appearance here.
