Deadpool 2: 10 Best Moments
2. Deadpool Dies (And Lives)
The third act concludes with Deadpool strapping an ability-sapping necklace to himself and offering himself up to Russell to kill instead of the headmaster. Cable fires at Russell anyway, at which point Deadpool dives in front of the bullet, saving Russell's life at the cost of his own (set to Annie's "Tomorrow", because why not?).
Russell's vengeful feelings fade away, effectively saving Cable's family from their future demise, while Deadpool has perhaps the most prolonged death sequence in the history of cinema. He even has time to make Colossus curse and call Cable a racist once again before finally expiring.
When he visits Vanessa in the afterlife, though, she tells him it's not time for him to go. Cable uses his final time travel slot to go back in time and plant Deadpool's metal skee-ball token in front of his heart, allowing it to deflect the bullet (complete with an on-screen fast-forward saving everyone some time).
So, Deadpool survives the gunshot this time, Cable is effectively stranded with them (for now) and the X-Force is one big, extremely weird, happy family. Roll credits, where the greatest moment of all awaits...
