Deadpool 2: 102 Easter Eggs, Gags & References Explained
54. Why Deadpool Won't Kill Kids
There's a reason Deadpool doesn't kill kids, as established in Uncanny X-Men.
The team can't kill Kid Apocalypse and decide to re-educate him, only for Fantomex to kill him. That ultimately prompts 'Pool to leave X-Force in disgust.
Obviously, the end of Firefist's story works out a lot better for the kid.
53. This Is Spinal Tap
As the trailers revealed, Cable's really big gun has a dial that goes up to 11 in honour of the most famous moment in This Is Spinal Tap.
There's another similar reference, too, as in the music video for CĂ©line Dion's Ashes - the song that the James Bond credits take-off is set to, Deadpool tells her to sing it again, but to dial it down from an 11 to a 5, 5-and-a-half at most. She responds with "This thing only goes to eleven, so beat it, Spider-Man!"
52. Black Tom Cassidy
Along with Deadpool and Russell and some other mutants, the Ice Box introduces Black Tom Cassidy, a villain from the comics who can control plant matter and fire blasts of energy. We don't get to see his powers in the film thanks to his inhibitor collar, though Deadpool jokes they're "cultural appropriation" thanks to his dreadlocks.
He also used to team up with Juggernaut in the comics a lot.
