Deadpool 2: 25 WTF Moments
23. The James Bond-Esque Opening Credits
After Deadpool takes down the goons responsible for Vanessa's death, the movie's opening title sequence kicks off, a riotously entertaining parody of the hyper-stylised James Bond credits sequences.
From the iconic Bond gun barrel to the gorgeous, surreal slow-mo visuals and, yes, a melodramatic belter of a tune from an acclaimed pop musician (Celine Dion and her new song, "Ashes"), it ticks all the boxes, but that's not all.
The actual on-screen text itself is full of terrific gags, from expressing Deadpool's sheer disbelief at what happened to Vanessa, to dubbing the writers "the real villains" (after lauding them as "the real heroes" in the first movie), claiming the cinematographer was Blind Al, and crediting the direction to "the guy who killed John Wick's dog", director David Leitch himself.
Rather than just rehash the awesome credits of the first movie, they subverted and expanded upon the concept in an unexpected and totally brilliant way.
