3. Copycat

The expectation with Deadpool was that Morena Baccarin would showcase some sort of mutant ability as Vanessa, considering she's a motion picture facsimile of Marvel Comics antihero Copycat. In the comics, Copycat is a mutant with the ability to not only shapeshift, but mimic the powers of those she morphs into. The clue is kinda-sorta in her codename. This was even more hinted at with Baccarin's line in one of the trailers, directed at Ajax (Ed Skrein); "I've played a lot of roles in my time. Damsel-in-distress ain't one of them." Imagine fan consternation when she doesn't reveal any of those abilities in the movie. Yet what better way to reveal that Vanessa has been a mutant all along than by having her show her true colours in the sequel? Incidentally, this leaves open the prospect of recasting the actress, should Baccarin not be able to reprise her role for whatever reason.
