Deadpool 2: Everything We Know So Far

5. Cable Is The Main Villain...

Cable was first announced as the villain for Deadpool 2 during the end-credits scene of Deadpool, wherein the titular character theorised that the role could go to literally anyone who was a "big guy with a flat top".

And then - after what felt like a casting process that took years and considered every grouchy-looking leading man in the business - Josh Brolin finally landed the part, after beating out the likes of David Harbour and Michael Shannon.

Brolin also plays Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but since that role does not feature him onscreen in the flesh, most people won't even be able to tell that one guy plays the main villain in two different franchises.

Brolin's spent a lot of time transforming his body in preparation for his turn as Cable, including the obligatory workouts...

... and a sprinkling of #ryanreynoldsismybitch.

Based on this evidence, the Avengers and Deadpool both have their work cut out for them.

You can expect to be seeing a lot more of Cable in future movies, too - Brolin has reportedly signed a four-picture deal.
