Deadpool 2 Teaser: 16 Easter Eggs & Secrets You Probably Missed

16. St Elmo's Fire

St Elmos Fire

The short opens with Wade walking listening to his iPod (because there's no way he has a Zune, right?), as John Parr's excellent St Elmo's Fire theme plays. It's another case of Wade Wilson exhibiting eclectic tastes in pop culture and music, which started as soon as the first film burst out of the traps.

Incidentally, the theatrical version has Wade listening to Juice Newton’s “Angel of the Morning” - the same song that was used for the opening sequence of the original film. That's partly in tribute to Ryan Reynolds, who insisted the song was used for the excellent scene of violence inside the car.

Quite why the songs are different remains to be seen.
