Deadpool 3: 8 MCU Characters That Need To Appear
7. Ms. Marvel
Deadpool’s introduction into the MCU is exciting enough on its own as the character, and Ryan Reynolds himself are both ultra-popular among fans, but the Merc with the Mouth represents something bigger than himself.
As it stands, should there be no surprises and no other movies announced to release between now and September 2024, Deadpool will be the first mutant to lead his own MCU movie. He and Logan will break ground on the formerly prohibited word on the big screen, but he won’t be the first mutant in the MCU on the whole.
Though an Inhuman in the source material, Marvel Studios made a very big creative change with Kamala Khan, labelling her as a mutant before anyone else in the history of the MCU. Not the X-Men, not Deadpool, but Ms. Marvel was the franchise’s first mutant.
With Deadpool now set to bring his mutation to the big screen, it seems like a wasted opportunity not to bring in Kamala to start the ball rolling on the inevitable mutant team-up further down the line.
The X-Men need to be crafted in much the same way as the Avengers, a piece or two at a time, and so Kamala and Wade’s meeting could act as something of the mutant equivalent of Nick Fury first addressing Tony Stark way back in 2008.
