The recent revelation that Batman Vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice has made only $860 million through its theatrical run is another reminder of just how successful Marvel's Deadpool has been. No one could have anticipated that the R-rated movie with a budget of just $58 million would go on to take in $761 million.

The upcoming release of the Deadpool Blu-ray will no doubt increase this sum considerably, and director Mark Miller has assured fans in an interview with Steve Weintraub over at Collider that it'll be packed to the rafters with cool extras and deleted scenes for fans to sink their teeth into.

Deleted scenes included range from Wade Wilson meeting - and killing - a charlatan doctor whilst trying to find a cure for his cancer, which Miller explains was cut as the film was "spending too much time in the darkness," to an extended fight scene in the warehouse which sees Deadpool getting face-stomped and his neck snapped before rising to his feet again. Miller intended this to be the first time the audience realises that Deadpool is unkillable, but felt the violence was too extreme for theatres.

The interview continues with Miller explaining how he strove to find a balance between the extremities of the action, humour and the surrounding elements of realism. "I think superheroes work best when everything else around them is as realistic and grounded as possible ... nobody else in world is acting particularly crazy or unrealistic."

Elaborating on the additional features coming to Blu-ray, Miller teased the inclusion of a gag reel, and a previously unseen montage showing Deadpoool going on a Merc killing spree: "I sh*t you not we probably have at least 30 minutes of footage of him jerking off. He really missed Vanessa a lot."
