And in case you needed convincing of Deadpool's connection to the wider world of the X-Men, please take into account the diverse ensemble of mutants that have been collected for his supporting cast. The film is taking a surprisingly eclectic approach to its starring roles, with the movie's cast including characters that never appeared in Deadpool comics presumably Fox making the most of its rights to all X-Men stuff. So just announced this week is the presence of newcomer Brianna Hildebrand playing Ellie Phimister, who might be better known from her codename of Negasonic Teenage Warhead. Or then again, she might not. It's Hildebrand's first feature role, having previously acted in award-winning web series Annie Undocumented. In the comics Ellie was introduced during Grant Morrison's run on New X-Men, which tried to drag the characters kicking and screaming into the 21st century by dressing them in biker garb and throwing infidelities around everywhere. He also introduced a bunch of new characters, including the future Negasonic Teenage Warhead, a telepath who can see the future, who was under the instruction of Emma Frost.
