Deadpool & Wolverine: 23 Easter Eggs & References Explained

Ryan Reynolds just couldn't help himself but include a bevy of references to his real-life wife Blake Lively throughout the film.

Early on, Deadpool (Reynolds) quips before fighting a fleet of TVA soldiers, "There are 206 bones in the human body, 207 if I'm watching Gossip Girl."

This is relevant because, of course, Blake Lively starred in the original Gossip Girl series, and, well, you probably understand the rest.

Later on when Deadpool awkwardly lands on top of Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), he says, "I'm telling Blake!," and Lively ends up providing the voice for the Lady Deadpool variant at the end of the film.

Given that we never see Lively's face, it's fair to assume that she didn't also play the part on set.

And in another fun nod to Reynolds' wife, there's an early line about Ladypool looking great for someone who's just had a kid - a sure nod to Lively giving birth to her and Reynolds' fourth child last year.
