Deadpool & Wolverine: 23 Easter Eggs & References Explained

19. Logan's Variants

Wolverine Patch
Marvel Comics

It wasn't exactly a shock to see a ton of Wolverine variants featured throughout the film, though it sure was a blast to behold them all - especially for long-time comic book fans.

In an early montage where Deadpool tries to track down a suitable living Wolverine, we see an extremely short version of the superhero - a clear reference to the fact that Wolverine is just 5 foot, 3 inches in the comics, while Hugh Jackman is almost an entire foot taller.

Elsewhere there's the classic patch-wearing Wolverine, the crucified Wolverine from the cover of Uncanny X-Men #251, the Clint Eastwood-esque Old Man Logan, and the legendary John Byrne Wolverine, who is even mentioned aloud by Deadpool while this variant prepares to battle The Hulk.
